The company estimates that capturing and processing the manure could avoid up to approximately 63,700 metric tons of carbon-dioxide emissions annually. That environmental figure is a company estimate.

What Is Neogenyx Building in Broken Bow?

The project will combine manure collection and anaerobic digestion with biogas upgrading and injection into the local natural-gas system. Neogenyx describes it as the company’s first agricultural renewable natural gas facility.

Anaerobic digestion uses microorganisms to break down organic material in an oxygen-free environment. At the Adams feedlot, the process is intended to convert manure into a raw biogas stream. That gas will then be treated and upgraded so it can meet the quality requirements for injection into a natural-gas system.

Neogenyx’s disclosed physical scope includes eight anaerobic digesters. The company expects the system to generate more than 4,400 SCFM of biogas and produce approximately 1.2 million MMBtu per year of pipeline-quality RNG after upgrading.

The project also includes a reuse plan for the material remaining after digestion. Neogenyx said the solid and liquid digestate will be used onsite as livestock bedding and agricultural fertilizer, integrating the energy facility with the feedlot’s continuing agricultural operations.

Has Construction Started?

Neogenyx announced on May 19 that construction had commenced, while the company’s later media advisory scheduled a ceremonial groundbreaking for August 26. Those disclosures should not be treated as conflicting milestones.

The May announcement is the company’s construction-status statement. The August event was organized as a public ceremony and site tour involving Neogenyx, Adams Land & Cattle, elected officials and other participants.

The distinction matters for project tracking: the August ceremony does not establish that all construction activity began on that date. It also does not, by itself, establish a completion or start-up schedule.

How Will the Renewable Natural Gas Be Used?

Neogenyx said the gas will be upgraded to pipeline quality, injected into the local natural-gas system and used as a transportation fuel or for other energy applications. The disclosed project is an RNG production and pipeline-injection facility.

The August media advisory also discussed the potential for agricultural RNG to serve emerging global markets, including possible use as liquefied renewable natural gas for international shipping. That language describes a potential downstream market for RNG; it does not announce liquefaction equipment at the Broken Bow site, a maritime customer, an export contract or a dedicated Bio-LNG facility.

What Environmental Benefits Does Neogenyx Expect?

Neogenyx estimates that the facility could avoid up to approximately 63,700 metric tons of carbon-dioxide emissions each year. The company compared that estimate with the annual carbon sequestration of approximately 63,800 acres of U.S. forest.

Both figures are Neogenyx estimates. The public project announcements reviewed by Allstream did not include the underlying lifecycle model, baseline assumptions or an independent verification report. The figures should therefore remain attributed to the company rather than presented as independently measured results.

The company describes the resulting RNG as a low-carbon transportation fuel. Because the project announcements did not provide a supporting lifecycle analysis, Allstream treats that description as a company characterization.

What Could the Project Mean for Contractors and Suppliers?

Based solely on the publicly disclosed project configuration—not on announced procurement packages—the Broken Bow facility could require work across agricultural handling, anaerobic digestion, gas processing and pipeline interconnection. Potential work categories could include:

  • Civil construction, foundations, earthwork, drainage and access improvements
  • Manure collection, transfer piping, pumps and feedstock-handling systems
  • Anaerobic digester construction, covers, mixing, heating and process controls
  • Biogas cleaning and upgrading equipment
  • Gas compression, metering and pipeline-interconnection facilities
  • Electrical distribution, motor controls, instrumentation and automation
  • Digestate separation, storage and reuse systems
  • Mechanical completion, testing, commissioning and long-term maintenance support

Neogenyx has not announced these categories as available bid packages. The company announcements reviewed for this article did not identify an EPC contractor, digester-technology supplier, gas-upgrading provider, pipeline-interconnection contractor or other equipment awards.

Allstream Insiders Perspective

The Adams project brings a defined industrial scope to an agricultural site: eight digesters, more than 4,400 SCFM of planned biogas production and approximately 1.2 million MMBtu per year of planned pipeline-quality RNG output. Those numbers give contractors and suppliers a clearer picture of the facility’s intended scale than a ceremonial groundbreaking alone would provide.

The project also connects several infrastructure systems that industrial readers should track together. Feedstock collection must support the digesters; the digesters must deliver a consistent biogas stream; upgrading and compression must prepare the gas for injection; and digestate handling must return usable material to the agricultural operation.

The potential maritime-fuel discussion remains earlier-stage market positioning. The announced Broken Bow scope produces pipeline-quality RNG. Any later Bio-LNG, export or shipping-fuel opportunity would require additional commercial and infrastructure disclosures before it should be treated as part of this project.

For the supply chain, the next useful disclosures would be named construction and technology partners, the gas-system interconnection, equipment awards and a company-reported completion or start-up target. Until then, the listed work categories are conditional Allstream analysis rather than confirmed solicitations or awards.
